Tales of Kenzera: Zau wears the influence of African cultures in its design, color scheme, themes, and story, and even includes multiple fully-voiced language versions for your playthroughs at launch. Here’s the voice actor lineup for Tales of Kenzera: Zau.
Many developers bring new languages to their games, either at launch or sometime after. While it’s not always possible, it’s a welcome feature that makes games much more approachable if you speak a language other than English. What’s really interesting and authentic about Tales of Kenzera: Zau is that it includes both English and Swahili language versions at launch for you to play through on day one.
English voice actor cast for Tales of Kenzera: Zau
Outside of developer Surgent Studios’ founder Abubakar Salim, who played Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins, you may not know who else voices the characters in Tales of Kenzera: Zau‘s English voice actor cast. See below for a list of every actor you’ll hear in your playthrough.
- Zau and Zuberi: Abubakar Salim, Surgent Studios founder and BAFTA-nominated actor known for his roles in Raised by Wolves, House of the Dragon, and, what I know him for, Assassin’s Creed Origins.
- Kalunga: Tristan D. Lalla who has worked on Longshot, Nurses, and Adewale in Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry.
- Bomani: Steve Toussaint, who recently worked on the Game of Thrones spin-off series House of the Dragon as Lord Corlys ‘The Sea Snake’ Velaryon.

Swahili voice actor cast for Tales of Kenzera: Zau
Swahili is one of the languages spoken by the Bantu cultures that influenced so much of Tales of Kenzera: Zau. As such, you can play the game from start to finish in this dialect, something I think might help make it more immersive, similar to playing Ghost of Tsushima in Japanese.
- Zau and Zuberi: Neville Misati, best known as Blacksta in Rafiki.
- Kalunga: Maqbul Mohammed, who plays Nicky in Weakness.
- Sabulana: Amalie Chopetta, who you may know for her role in Holiday Fiance and as Aida in You Again.
- Bomani: Melvin Alusa, an actress I know best from The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and also had roles in Mission to Rescue and TeraStorm.
- Liyana: Grace Nyokabi, who seems to be in her debut role in Tales of Kenzera: Zau.
- Mama: Edith Ithongo’o, recognizable for her role in the TV show Igiza and her work on Lia.
