Hunker down a little longer
Frictional Games has announced that a last-minute delay has affected its upcoming horror sequel Amnesia: The Bunker, which will no longer meet its May 16 release date — The first-person spooker will now launch on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms one week later on May 23.
“We’re pushing the release of Amnesia: The Bunker back by one week, and it will now be coming out on May 23 instead,” noted the indie developer on Twitter. “This will give us a little more time to polish the game and make sure everything is perfect before launch. We appreciate your patience and hope you are looking forward to playing Amnesia: The Bunker. It will be worth the wait!”
The latest in the streamer-friendly horror series, Amnesia: The Bunker sees the player take up the role of a French soldier deep in the misery and isolation of World War I. Trapped in an abandoned bunker, the protagonist must pick their way through the darkness, solving puzzles and attempting to stay one step ahead of a mysterious and frightening force that lurks within the shadows and corridors of this living hellhole.
Amnesia: The Bunker hopes to bring new and unique mechanics to the franchise, including a sandbox approach to player choice, emergent gameplay, and constant alterations to the environment in order to provide variety and individuality to the player’s experience. A grim story of survival, and the will to live in even the direst of circumstances, hopes to deliver the psychological horror that is the Amnesia trademark.
Amnesia: The Bunker launches May 23 on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms.
