Capcom has started showing off new subspecies
During San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom introduced Acidic Glavenus, a new subspecies dreamed up for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. The corrosive creature is just one beast in a batch of variants, with the red-eyed Ebony Odogaron and the thunderous Fulgur Anjanath also planned for the expansion.
Today, we got a proper look at Acidic Glavenus in a short gameplay clip.
As if a knife-tail weren’t deadly enough already, this particular breed of Glavenus has “sulphuric acid debuffing abilities” and “more precise control” of its pointy appendage. When Iceborne releases this September, you’ll be able to find the subspecies lurking around the musty Rotten Vale.
With each sweeping knock-back, I felt the player’s pain deep in my bones. I think I even grimaced! Let this video be a reminder that the monsters – not the hunters – are the true stars of this series.
