Love it or hate it, Rainbow Six: Siege has been doing pretty well for Ubisoft. Their DLC model for the game has allowed all players to access new maps without paying and given the impatient a way to quickly unlock new classes (through stinky microtransactions). It may not be ideal, but it certainly hasn’t excluded anyone for not ponying up.
It has now been confirmed that a second year of content will be coming to the destruct-a-thon. The official Rainbow Six Twitter account let the news loose with a simple tweet confirming as much.
The past year has been an incredible journey, and we are excited to have you join us for another full year of content! pic.twitter.com/2W9youloDJ

I suppose this is in response to the increase of registered accounts after the last expansion launched. There doesn’t seem to be a reason to stop the train from rolling and I’m liking the idea of a single purchase that continually gets updated. I really think Call of Duty should go the same route, but Activision can’t leave those billions on the table.
