Apogek Shrine is a fun puzzle shrine in Tears of the Kingdom that makes nice use of the game’s new mechanical components. If you haven’t used the fans or gliders before, this shrine makes for a nice introduction. However, that also means it can be difficult to get to the end.

We’ve covered everything you need to know to complete Apogek Shrine below. But first, let’s take a look at how to find it.

How to find Apogek Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Apogek Shrine is located in the Lanayru Great Spring region of Hyrule. It’s just to the north of Mount Lanayru on the other side of Lanayru Bay. Naturally, that makes Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower one of the closest fast travel points for most players. To get to the shrine from there, use the tower and glide directly north until you reach the spot pictured above, just north of Brynna Plain.

Alternatively, Ihen-a Shrine is an even closer fast travel location for players who have unlocked it. Travel south from Ihen-a to reach Apogek Shrine in no time. Check the screenshot above for the exact location of Apogek Shrine on the map.

How to complete Apogek Shrine

As you enter the shrine, you’ll notice that gliders are flying unaided across a great chasm. There’s also a small ball on the side where Link starts the trial, next to a rail runway fit for a glider. To proceed, use Ultrahand to pick a glider right out of the sky and bring it over to your side. Next, use Ultrahand again to attach the ball to the glider. With that done, place the glider on the metal rails, but be ready to hop on it before you do.

Once onboard, you will glide serenely to the other side of the room, where you can detach the ball and place it in the hole to open the large gate.

Room 2

In the next room, there are some vertical gusts of wind that, when combined with your paraglider, will lift you up to the next level. However, these gusts are coming from fans that can be moved and turned on/off.

Before floating up to the next stage, grab one of the powered down fans using Ultrahand and send it up to the next level first. Follow it up by jumping and opening your paraglider on one of the vertical gusts of wind.

How to grab the Apogek Shrine treasure chest

You’ll need the fan to get to the end of the shrine, but first, we have a chest to collect. On the left side of the room is a chest on top of a platform. At first glance, it looks like you can get up there without any help, but this isn’t the case. Take your fan and place it on the highest platform right next to the chest. Just like in the picture above. Then, climb up yourself, activate the fan by striking it with a weapon, and use the same method as before to float on up to the chest.

You’ll be rewarded with a Strong Zonaite Spear for your trouble.

The final puzzle

After getting the chest, take the fan with you to one of the gliders that regularly spawn on the main level in this room. There’s also a persistent glider on the opposite side of the room to the chest that you don’t need to wait for.

To finish the shrine, attach the fan (while it’s turned off) to the back of the glider. See the picture above for reference. There are three rails to send the glider into flight, but you must not try attaching the fan while your glider is on a rail. The gliders slide down these rails particularly quickly.

Attach the fan to the glider, and when you’re happy with the placement, use Ultrahand to put the glider on the rail while Link is standing a little downhill from it. This will give you time to hop on the glider as it slides down the rail. As soon as you’re on it, strike the glider or fan with a weapon to turn the fan on.

You’ll now be on your way to the end of the shrine. Just stay standing in the middle of the glider to make it fly straight or very carefully move to either side to adjust its direction in flight. If you somehow crash or fail, you can grab another fan from near the entrance of the room and try again.

That’s it! Apogek Shrine is complete.
