C-Bloggers know JACK of No Trades extremely well. Each week, JACK posts multiple pieces of 3D rendered works that seemingly take him little to no effort to do. His pieces range from videogames to everyday objects such as cars. It’s not just a weekly post either. No, he posts multiple times a week showing off his latest work or mashing his pieces together. There was a little hiatus from him a couple of months back, but that’s because he just had his first kid!
Quite frankly, I’m blown away by how great all of JACK’s stuff is. It’s extremely impressive and makes me want to dabble in the 3D field. Hit the jump for a short little Q&A I had with JACK and check out the gallery and his past C-Blogs for all of his works.
On average, how long does it take you to make a piece?
It takes me up to four hours to complete one depending on how complexed and detail oriented the model is.
What do you use to make these?
I use Solidworks to model and use Photoworks to render. Solidworks is a design based program used widely in the aviation industry, but as you can see with my models, you can use it to make a wide variety of things.
How long have you been working with this program/process?
I’ve been working with Solidworks for about four years now.
What do you do for a living?
I design/model/assemble the interiors of aircraft using 3D programs such as Catia & Solidworks. I design sheetmetal parts, headliners, cabinets, sideledges for small to medium size passenger jets for Hawker Beechcraft and Cessna. I also create drawings for production so they can build my designs.
How old are you?
I’m 22 and live in Wichita, Kansas. I went to a Tech College for Design & Drafting. I have a 2-month-old baby.
When did you find out about Destructoid and join it?
I think it was about eight or nine months ago when I grew tired of Joystiq.
Thanks for your time JACK!
