Games really shouldn’t have special editions unless they’re truly special and/or revered, but that didn’t stop the original Assassin’s Creed from arrogantly believing it deserved one. Assassin’s Creed 2 carries on the tradition (along with seemingly 50% of all games these days) with its own collector’s version, crammed to the gills with special goodies.
Assassin’s Creed 2: Black Edition (zomg racist) will come shipped in “black packaging,” with each copy having its own “unique authentic holographic signature.” Also included with the game is a “64-page finely crafted leather style hardcover and parchment-finish” book with concept art, developer interviews and probably more self-indulgence than you can shake a stick at.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Black Edition will also house the game’s soundtrack, a toy of main character Ezio and three in-game bonus missions. How about that for something that is not nothing?
Assassin’s Creed 2: Black Edition is currently slated for a UK price point of £69.99, with a North American price yet to be determined. Don’t expect it to come cheap though, kids.
