Assassin’s Creed: Revelations PC won’t have Ubisoft DRM

Ubisoft has confirmed that its hated “always on” DRM will be absent from Assassin’s Creed: Revelations when it comes to PC. The controversial anti-piracy measure, that demands a persistent Internet connection in order for the game to work, has earned Ubisoft a lot of resentment over the years.

Players will need to go online to activate the game the first time its played, but will then be free to enjoy the game without fearing a dropped connection. How about that? A step forward for Ubisoft!

Of course, Ubisoft has been selective about its DRM inclusion in the past, so don’t take this as confirmation that we’ve seen the last of it. In any case, this is a nice bit of good news for those consumers who don’t like being automatically treated like thieves.
