Assassin’s Creed Unity trailer kills with the blade to save from the blade

Meet Elise

Ubisoft released a new and highly dramatic CG trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity, and it introduces a new character to the game’s cast. Arno Dorian, Unity‘s protagonist, sprints across Paris rooftops in order to save a young woman named Elise from being beheaded, after which they fight alongside one another.

The coupling is unlikely because Ubisoft revealed that Elise is a noblewoman that’s trying to rise in the ranks of the Templar faction. Assassins and Templars get along like cats and dogs, but that ill-will comes to a standstill when a million enraged French guards are out for blood.

While it’s unknown how involved Elise’s role will be in Assassin’s Creed Unity, her backstory will be fleshed-out in a novel that shares the game’s namesake authored by Oliver Bowden. The story, which will be told from Elise’s perspective, will be centered around the Assassins and Templars’ conflict, and the parts that Arno and she play within it.
