Awesomenauts Assemble right now is basically a pre-Starstorm iteration

No Ted McPain or updated patches yet

After a series of delays the PS4 version of Awesomenauts is finally here, albeit slightly behind the PC version in terms of content. For starters, you won’t find the newest character Ted McPain anywhere, nor will you find any elements of Starstorm.

Despite that holdup, I played a few games today and it’s been extremely smooth sailing. The servers seem to be in good shape, Assemble runs very smoothly, and it looks great on a big screen — slightly better than it does when I hook up my PC to a TV. I also can’t get enough of how good the Dualshock 4 feels, and it’s perfectly suited for Awesomenauts with a similar setup to the PC (just sub in the touchpad as the leaderboard button).

As long as creator Ronimo and PS4 port developer Abstraction Games start adding Starstorm content to Assemble sooner than later, it’ll end up being a fine console port, and a major upgrade from the developer’s previous efforts on the 360 and PS3.
