It’s reassuring to hear that most people are loving Battlefield: Bad Company 2, or at least what they’ve seen of it through the limited scope of the beta. I don’t say that as someone who wishes ill of Infinity Ward; quite the opposite. The more competition between war-based shooters, the better.
The original plan was for the PC beta to unleash itself in December, but that’s become a no-go — it’s now “very early” 2010. EA DICE has said the aforementioned PlayStation 3 beta is so popular, the studio wants to “drastically increase” the capacity of the PC version.
Those with capable machines will want to pay attention, as this will be the one to get into. It supports 32 players, DirectX 11, and those dedicated ranked servers you’ve all been clamoring for, among other things.
