In a game as massive as Baldur’s Gate 3, it can be a mystery if you’ve seen all there is to see. Between story quests, sub-quests, and the occasional conversation between party members, there’s a ton of content and — to be honest — not a lot of time to spend exploring the world.
I personally subscribe to the latter, as in the PlayStation 5 version, the trophy for entering Act 2 doesn’t pop until crossing the threshold into the Shadow-Cursed Lands. In any case, to help you ensure you’re doing the most of what you can do in Baldur’s Gate 3’s middle act, here’s a BG3 Act 2 checklist:
Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3) Act 2 Main Quest List
It should be noted first that Act 2 plays out very differently depending on your choices to this point. So, we’ll be pointing out if certain quests are mutually exclusive. Here are all the main quests in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3:
- MAIN QUEST: Infiltrate Moonrise Towers
- SUB-QUEST: Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse
This sub-quest covers from the moment you first encounter the convoy to either defeating or defending the convoy and securing a Moonlantern.
- SUB-QUEST: Follow the Convoy
This sub-quest is only applicable if you decide to defend the convoy and follow it to Moonrise Towers.
- SUB-QUEST: Capture Isobel the Selunite Cleric / Resolve the Abduction
This sub-quest has two sides to it — if you can defend Isobel when Marcus comes to abduct her, you can avoid this sub-quest altogether.
- SUB-QUEST: Find Ketheric Thorm’s Relic
It would appear this sub-quest is an alternative means of ending up at the Gauntlet of Shar, if you are siding with Ketheric and the Absolute.
- SUB-QUEST: Find the Nightsong
This sub-quest mostly deals with your decision to either save or kill the Nightsong in Act 2, but it won’t be completed until you face off with the wizard Lorroakan in Act 3’s Lower City.
- SUB-QUEST: Defeat Ketheric Thorm
This sub-quest will come as a result of sending Ketheric Thorm back to his grave.
Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3) Act 2 Side Quest List
Here are all of the side quests for Act 2 in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Lift the Shadow Curse
- To start: Talk to Halsin after entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
- Wake up Art Cullagh
- To start: Talk to Fist J’ehlar at the Last Light Inn.
- Punish the Wicked
- To start: Talk to He Who Was (man with the raven) at the Ruined Battlefield.
- Investigate the Selunite Resistance
- To start: Read the investigation notes found on Inquisitor Verzen Wranlock at the Ruined Battlefield.
- Find Arabella’s Parents
- To start: Talk to Arabella in Reithwin Town to the west of the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint and east of the Moonrise Towers waypoint.
- Find Rolan in the Shadows
- To start: Talk to the Tiefling kids at the Last Light Inn after Isobel’s abduction attempt.
- Rescue the Tieflings
- To start: Talk with the Tieflings at the Last Light Inn.
- Rescue Wulbren
- To start: Complete “Save the Grymforge Gnomes” quest in Act 1, or run into Wulbren at Moonrise Towers. Note: This side-quest is bugged and will lock you out of completing it if you complete Shar’s Gauntlet before rescuing the prisoners at Moonrise Towers.
- Find Zevlor
- To start: Talk with the Tieflings at the Last Light Inn. Zevlor is trapped in the Illithid Colony that you fight Ketheric Thorm in the second time.
- Find Mol
- To start: Talk to Isobel after her abduction attempt. Mol can be found in Act 3 within the Baldur’s Gate Guildhall.
- Kill Raphael’s Old Enemy
- Break Yurgir’s Contract
- To start: Talk to Raphael at the entrance to Thorm Mausoleum.
- Rescue the Grand Duke
- To start: Approach the burning inn in Waukeen’s Rest in Act 1.
- Decide Minthara’s Fate
- To start: Enter Moonrise Towers. Is only available if Nightwarden Minthara survived Act 1.
