Beat out Witcher 3 and Arkham City
A reminder that Arkham Knight has “Batman” in the name and no volley of excoriating 7/10 reviews (or broken PC ports) can do it harm: Rocksteady’s new Batman is the top-selling game of 2015 in the UK by its first week sales, beating out The Witcher 3, which did 4 million worldwide its first two weeks (and likely near 200,000 its first week in the UK).
Note that this only includes physical copies (reportedly 67% sold on PS4, 33% on Xbox One) and, of course, is just for the UK. Arkham Knight also beat out City (which sold 2 million worldwide its first week), but City released on a Friday in the UK and Knight on a Tuesday. Point is, it’s doing alright, innit?
It marks another (monetarily) successful launch for Warner Bros. following Dying Light, Mortal Kombat X and Lego Jurassic World.
