Batman reportedly has a new voice actor in Arkham Origins

Well then…

We’ve grown accustomed to Batman being voiced by Kevin Conroy over the years. He is the role, as far as I’m concerned, which is why it was great to see him be a part of Rocksteady’s Arkham games. Regrettably, it sounds like Conroy won’t return for the newly-announced Batman: Arkham Origins.

The news stems from South African NAG Magazine, which is reporting that developer Warner Bros. Games Montreal has gone with someone else in light of the game’s timeline. This is an origin story, after all, so Batman will be younger; that’s the rationale, anyway. Makes some sense, even if I don’t agree with it now before, uh, actually giving the new actor a chance.

By the time Origins makes it into my hands, I likely won’t care all that much. But for now, I can empathize with anyone who has ever been disappointed by a casting decision like this. Here’s looking at you, Thief fans.
