Catwoman and Styx would be BFFs
Xbox is starting 2020 with two games where the lead sticks to the shadows. Good synergy considering they couldn’t be more diametrically opposed from a moral standpoint.
Batman: A Telltale Games Series is January’s Xbox One game that most people will recognize. Telltale’s narrative-heavy storytelling approach and The Caped Crusader’s always-entertaining policing of Gotham make for a decent-enough five part adventure.
Opposite Batman is 2017’s Styx: Shards of Darkness. This stealthy goblin-focused tale from Focus Home Interactive is more Thief-like than anything else. The eponymous Styx spies, steals, and assassinates, all while cloaked in the darkness of his surroundings. Batman might appreciate the method but he would not appreciate the motives.
On Xbox 360, Games with Gold subscribers are getting some very old (but good!) freebies — and not just old in the sense that they released last generation. Tekken 6 (2007) and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (2006) are tapped to round out the month. As always, both can be played on Xbox One via backward compatibility.
