Good news for Battlefield 3 players; DICE has released the first in what looks to be a month-long series of updates. So far, update 1.03 has fixed voice chat issues that PS3 players have been dealing with since launch. Weighing in at just 11MB, and with no official changelog, the patch seems to be solely focused on the PS3 voice chat issues.
DICE spoke up earlier this week about the other issues that they want to address in upcoming patches. On the top of the list seems to be nerfing the USAS-12 shotgun and frag round combo, and also addressing the difficulty of receiving defender points in Rush mode.
As for the input lag that many players have noticed, Community Manager Daniel Matros commented on Twitter, “Sorry but we’re still working on it. No updates from my end unfortunately.” Odd that a game with such a large focus on multiplayer and co-operative play took so long to fix the voice chat issues. Keep an eye out for additional patches from DICE later this month.
