Today, developer Behaviour Interactive announced both the launch of Dead by Daylight Tome 19: Splendor and its next Modifier. Each Tome acts like a season pass with a free and premium track for players to earn cosmetic rewards from. However, news of a new Modifer coming to the game is far more exciting, especially because of what it means for Trials once it’s finally out.

The Chaos Shuffle Modifer is coming to Dead by Daylight soon

Dead by Daylight‘s next Modifer is called Chaos Shuffle, an apt name for how it mutates every Trial. The premise is pretty simple: This Modifier hands out randomized Perks to every player in the Trial, meaning there’s no meta loadout with strengths you can play to. Instead, you’ve got to work with what you’re given and hope for the best.

Chaos Shuffle doesn’t have a release date yet, but when it does arrive, the concept will surely live up to its name. One of the biggest complaints I see in the Dead by Daylight community is players getting tunneled by Killers using specific Perks or Killers complaining about groups of Survivors all using the same or similar Perks.

Chaos Shuffle removes the ability to choose your Perks, making Trials a smorgasbord of random abilities. Perhaps it’ll give us all a new appreciation for random skills, or learn how to use some we never considered using before.

When the new Modifer comes to Dead by Daylight, it’ll be part of an event with an Event Tome. This will result in even more cosmetics for players to unlock and additional challenges to help you progress the current Rift Pass for Tome 19: Splendor. This Tome contains cosmetics inspired by luxury, with gold and silk at the forefront, including outfits for The Trickster, Nea Karlsson, Mikaela Reid, The Skull Merchant, and, the one I’m going to be playing endless hours until I unlock, a new Ultra Rare outfit for The Doctor.

The Rift Pass awards 100 more Auric Cells, Dead by Daylight‘s premium currency, than you pay for it, meaning if you reach level 70 in it, you’ll come out on top. You can now also buy a Rift Pass Bundle to unlock an additional 20 levels, something I’ll be saving for when I’ve almost hit the end of the Rift Pass, so I’m guaranteed all the Deep Rift cosmetics, too.
