Gorou is a 4-star Geo Bow character in Genshin Impact who specializes in buffing DEF and Geo damage. Whether you’ve just gotten Gorou or are just looking to strengthen your Geo team, here are the best weapons and artifacts for Watatsumi Island’s furry-eared general.
Given Gorou’s support-oriented playstyle, his gearing options lean into his support role. As a general guideline, try for as much Energy Recharge as possible.
Gorou’s best weapons in Genshin Impact
Gorou with Favonius Warbow
Favonius Warbow is my top recommendation for Gorou. This 4-star Bow allows its wielder to generate extra particles for the rest of their team when scoring a CRIT hit. Just be sure to build some CRIT Rate when using this weapon. You get one copy of Favonius Warbow from finishing the Mondstadt Archon Quests, but you can obtain more from regular wishes.
Gorou with End of the Line
End of the Line is a 4-star Bow fashioned out of a fish. Its passive effect isn’t particularly useful for Gorou, but its high Energy Recharge stat is quite nice. This Bow and its Refinements can be obtained from the Fishing Association in Port Ormos, Sumeru.
Sacrificial Bow, Fading Twilight, or Elegy for the End
If neither Favonius nor End of the Line are options for you, try the 4-stars Sacrificial Bow or Fading Twilight. You probably won’t get much use out of their passives, but they do give Gorou some Energy Recharge, and Sacrificial Bow can allow for some flexibility in Gorou’s rotations. On the off chance you have a spare 5-star Elegy for the End, you could put it on Gorou, but there are other characters who can make better use of it.
Artifact sets for Gorou in Genshin Impact
Gorou build with 4pc Exile
I hope you’ve been saving your 4-star Exile artifacts, because 4pc Exile is one of the best artifact sets for Gorou. Its 2pc effect gives him Energy Recharge while its 4pc effect allows him to generate Energy for the rest of his team. 4pc Exile turns Gorou into an effective battery for his team, allowing your DPS character to build more offensive stats.
I recommend using a 5-star CRIT Rate circlet as an off piece if you’re using Favonius Warbow. If using a different weapon, try a 5-star Energy Recharge sands as an off piece instead.
Exile artifacts can be obtained from boss challenges and 4-star artifact boxes from Spiral Abyss challenges. If you haven’t been saving Exile pieces, I recommend you start keeping some Exile artifacts with Energy Recharge and CRIT Rate stats.
Gorou build with 4pc Noblesse Oblige
If you don’t have a 4pc Exile set, try 4pc Noblesse Oblige instead. Itto and Noelle can still use the ATK buff from its 4pc effect, even if they usually prefer DEF buffs. Since Noblesse Oblige is a 5-star set, it should be easier to get enough Energy Recharge and CRIT Rate.
Artifact stats to prioritize for Gorou

Gorou should prioritize Energy Recharge until he reaches about 250%. As long as he has an Energy Recharge weapon and an Energy Recharge sands, he should be able to get close.
Use a CRIT Rate circlet if equipping Favonius Warbow. If using a different weapon, stick with a DEF circlet.
DEF only improves Gorou’s healing; it doesn’t increase his buffs. If you can’t get a DEF goblet or circlet, feel free to equip whatever you have with the most Energy Recharge.
