Get ahead of the other Trainers.

Despite retreading the same territory as Ruby and Saphire, Pokémon Emerald is among the most beloved entries in the series. It expands the Hoenn region and its activities to provide a truly colossal Pokémon experience. The sheer wealth of content can be overwhelming. Luckily, there are a few workarounds to help you navigate it.

Emerald comes with various cheat codes. These handy inputs allow you to bypass grinding and other boring bits. Some fans might consider that a cheap way around, but others may see it as a convenient solution to obstacles. Without these roadblocks, you can see all that the game has to offer.

How To Enter the Codes

Like other Pokémon titles, Emerald calls for special equipment for its cheats. Most of the codes function through a Gameshark or Action Replay. Plugging them into the Game Boy Advance enables you to input the codes. Of course, they aren’t the only options.

There’s also the Code Breaker. It’s a similar device; it simply sports a few different cheats. That said, all these tools are equally effective at tailoring the journey to your liking.

The Best Cheats

Legendary Encounters

Since it’s so all-encompassing, Emerald includes one of the largest collections of legendary Pokémon. On top of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, it has the legendary beasts, giants, and birds. Also here are the eon duo (Latios & Latias), Jirachi, Deoxys, and even Mew & Mewtwo. These guys are available through wild encounters or trading, but getting them all can be a daunting prospect.

This cheat lessens that pressure. It instantly summons your desired Pokémon into battle, affording you a chance to bag them. While you still have to fight them, you don’t have to wander around and hope they show up. This shortcut saves a ton of time and potentially nets you the best Pokémon in the game. All you need is a Gameshark or Action Replay. First, input the master code:

00006FA7 000A

1006AF88 0007

Then, seek out the corresponding code for each desired Pokémon. All it takes is a short web search – a small price for such rare creatures.

Teleportation

The Hoenn region has always been a sizeable area in the Pokémon world, and it’s even more so in Emerald. Navigating such a vast land can be intimidating and occasionally annoying. That’s especially the case when many locales have multiple levels and obstacles.

Gameshark lets you breeze past those roadblocks. This code teleports you to virtually any area in the game. Just enter the master code:

D8BAE4D9

4864DCE5

A86CDBA5

19BA49B3

Then, choose the code for your destination. You can even select the specific floor or room. Fast Travel doesn’t get faster than that.

Infinite Battle Points

For most entries, the Pokémon League is the ultimate test of one’s skills. Emerald has an extra trial: the Battle Frontier. It’s an entire island filled with fun facilities. Tough trainers fill these facilities, and they’re just waiting to be challenged. It’s an exciting adventure and yet another piece of engaging content.

Even better, it holds a plethora of prizes. They range from silly plushies to new moves. That said, earning these rewards can be a real slog. Clearing one facility usually gives you a handful of Battle Points. Meanwhile, prize prices range from 16 to 256 Battle Points. Granted, you can score more Points with consecutive wins, but that still calls for a lot of time and patience. As a result, you fight an endless slew of mundane trainers forever to earn enough for one purchase.

With the Code Breaker, you can do it in a fraction of the time. Once again, the master code comes first:

9266FA6C97BD

905B5ED35F81

B76A68E5FAB1

After that comes the Battle Point code:

10C6FC61E2C9

F64140A276A5

10C6FC61E2C9

8F5DDCA742ED

10C6FC61E2C9

79D9F5A5D6FF

Finally, press the select button to instantly net five Battle Points. Keep pressing it, and you’ll soon have enough to buy out all the shops.

Key Items

Not all the aforementioned obstacles can be overcome with HM moves. Some roadblocks require Key Items. For instance, you may need a special bike to traverse a path, or you might require a certain key to unlock a door. Finding these objects can be more of a pain than the HMs. They’re just as elusive, and you can’t even use them in battle. You’ll wonder if they’re worth the search.

The Code Breaker cuts out that search. This cheat lets you pick and choose the Key Item you want. Rather than a master code, just enter this number:

82005274 0XXX

Be sure to replace the X digits with the corresponding item code. Again, this calls for a quick web search. Finally, proceed into a Pokémart and buy the first item on the list. No matter what you purchase, your selected Key Item appears in your inventory.

Infinite EXP

Once you reach the later areas, the battles inevitably pose a greater challenge. Thankfully, you should have a strong, well-honed team by this point. The downside is that this lessens the incentive to catch wild Pokémon, which are all weaker than your party. Fixing that takes dozens of hours of training, but what if it took five minutes?

The Code Breaker lets you turn your Pokémon into powerhouses in one fell swoop. Well, it’s actually a two-step process, but the idea is the same. First, enter this cheat.

82000060270F

82022D48270F

82022F7C270F

8202309C270F

820241F0270F

Second, you simply need to win a Pokémon battle. Any scuffle does the trick, as victory awards you an infinite amount of EXP. Instead of just a formidable team, you could build an unbeatable army. All of your Pokémon reach their full potential, meaning no battle is beyond your reach.
