Underrated in Ranked Play
The submachine gun class is a staple in Call of Duty games. The sheer force and fire rate of SMGs in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 alike make weapons like the PDSW 528 well worth checking out. If you’re struggling with how to make this speedy SMG better, here are the best PDSW loadouts.
Best PDSW loadouts, explained
The PDSW is quite unique in the SMG category. Without any changes or attachments, it is already an excellent and underrated weapon. Its fire rate is one of the fastest in its class and the massive default 50-round magazine is uncanny.
As such, the goal with the PDSW is the age-old mantra “less is more.” Unlike other weapons like the RPK, you are better off using fewer attachments than the max possible limit of five.
Even still, there are some key differences when it comes to building the best PDSW loadout for Warzone 2.0 compared to MW2, as they have different functions in each game. For instance, here are the best loadouts for both titles.
Best Warzone 2.0 PDSW loadout
Warzone 2.0 is where you want to add more attachments to the PDSW. Since you’re dealing with large open spaces on places like Al Mazrah and even Ashika Island, the limited range of this powerhouse SMG is more of a problem than in MW2. To help with this, I have come up with the best loadout for battle royale that I use in my loadout drops:
- Comb: TV Taccomb
- Barrel: 18.75” Cloak 90
- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip
The idea here is to not slow down the PDSW much while making up for its lack of range. This is why I don’t suggest using a laser, optic, or other extra attachment you might use on fellow SMGs.
The PDSW is honestly not the best battle royale weapon (it’s better in MW2), but it functions well as a secondary weapon in a loadout. Grab the Weapon Specialist perk package and make the PDSW your secondary weapon for a primary assault rifle or sniper.
Best Modern Warfare 2 PDSW loadout
On the other hand, the PDSW is one of the most underrated MW2 SMGs, especially in Ranked Play. The speed and magazine it has will keep you in the mix in close-range for much longer than some of the competition, especially on tighter maps.
Here is the best Modern Warfare 2 PDSW loadout:
- Rear Grip: Bruen G305 Grip Wrap
- Rail: GR33 Light Rail (optional)
When I said less is more, I meant it. Half the time, I only run the Bruen G305 Grip Wrap in Ranked Play and that’s it. Adding more than these two attachments will make it slower than it should be.
While the PDSW won’t ever replace SMG giants in Ranked like the Vaznev and Vel, it’s underrated on certain Hardpoint maps like Hydroelectric and Fortress where it can dominate.
