Princess Zelda can wait
Rupees make the Tears of the Kingdom world go round, and Link will need plenty of them if you want to see everything that this game has to offer. From housing to armor to even just some arrows, Rupees are a necessity, and in high amounts, too.
Thankfully, there are a few ways to farm for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom to speed up the process.
Best ways to farm Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom
From farming monsters to looking for certain materials to even doing quests, here are the best ways to farm for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom without needing a single exploit or glitch.
Find gems
Gems are the most valuable items you can sell to traders throughout Hyrule. Items including opals, rubies, sapphires, and the ever-elusive diamonds are the items that will make you the most money in this game.
Though they have other purposes besides being sold, it is worth farming these gems to make the most amount of Rupees. In general, you want to look for caves or head into the Depths. In these places, you’ll often find ore deposits that contain gems you can sell.
Look for the glowing, sparkling ore deposits for a better chance at rare gems. In addition, diamonds and some other gems are occasionally in treasure chests in some Shrines. If you have an older version of the game, you can also use the duplication glitch to speed up the process.
Sell cooked meals and elixirs
While it is fine to gather and sell apples, there is a better way to make money off of these random herbs and materials you find. You can cook food into dishes and then sell them for more Rupees than you would get if you sold them individually.
It is best to take a few seconds out of your exploration to pick up every flower, herb, and more that you find. This lets you turn them into meals and elixirs that will earn you some solid cash.
Hunt monsters
In the same vein, you can also hunt down monsters to farm them for monster parts. Monster parts add up quite quickly the more enemies you take on and can sell for a decent chunk of change. The rarer the enemies, too, such as Lynels and dragons, the more valuable their parts will be.
Farm Blupees
Blupees are the adorable glowing little creatures you’ll occasionally find in the world. If you hit them with an arrow from afar, they’ll drop Rupees for you. They are generally found near caves where you can farm Bubbulfrogs and disappear quickly.
Your best bet is to jump off of a cliff or rock to then hold down the left trigger and slow down time so you can hit the Blupee several times in a row to maximize Rupees.
Put up signs
Addison is one of the NPCs you’ll see quite often in your time in Tears of the Kingdom. Every time you see him, he has a short sign puzzle for you. All you need to do is use the nearby materials to hold up his sign. It’s worth taking a minute or two to do these since you’ll always get 25 Rupees and some food or materials you can sell.
Complete quests
Many side quests and adventures in Tears of the Kingdom reward you with Rupees, so it is worth seeking out and doing all of them. The newspaper storyline, like the Great Fairy quests, usually rewards you with around 100 Rupees per quest, and other quests will do the same.
While not every quest gives you Rupees as a reward, some will offer items and food you can sell for money. Plus, you might get other special rewards or storylines in the process.
