Bethesda gives a status update on Fallout 3 DLC for PS3

While the first three Fallout 3 add-ons for both Xbox 360 and PC were all sorts of messed up upon release, the latest pack, “Point Lookout,” seemed to launch without a hitch. Has Bethesda learned its lesson? I hope for the sake of PlayStation 3 owners the company has.

Operation: Anchorage,” which is going to be the first of the Fallout 3 downloadable content to make it to the PS3, is still being worked on according to Bethesda’s Pete Hines. He told Eurogamer that because they are dealing with a different platform, the DLC “requires special attention and plenty of testing before it’s released.”

Sounds to me like the developer wants to avoid another botched DLC pack launch at all costs. “We are trying to put the finishing touches on it now,” Pete explained, “but as I said above it’s a different task than DLC on another platform, and so there are things we have to finish doing and testing before it’s done on PS3.”

We are also reminded that the plan is to have each additional add-on go up on PlayStation Network in intervals of four to six weeks once “Operation: Anchorage” debuts. Sounds good to me. And for the record, I’m still totally rocking the ninja suit shown above.
