Billy Mitchell gets court case against parody depiction tossed because ‘he is a human being’

Regular Show, whoaaaaaaaa

Haha, this is such an amazing story.

As a Regular Show fan, I couldn’t forget their depiction of Billy Mitchell in the form of Garrett Bobby Ferguson — a floating head that cheats at video games and holds the universe record for many titles. Apparently the actual Billy Mitchell sued the show despite the fact that it would clearly be protected under parody laws — as of this week, the case was tossed.

According to the judge, the depiction is a “non-human creature, a giant floating head from outer space,” while the real Mitchell is “a human being.” Also, the judge noted that the Regular Show character “explodes,” while the plaintiff “does not.”

Funnily enough, the character does sprout arms and legs, but that’s besides the point — the fact that an actual judge had to rule on this is hilarious.
