First off, yes people, I know it’s not called Bit.Trip Runner 2. The game is called Bit.Trip presents: Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. I knew that without having to look at the official webpage as a reference (though I did look at it just now to make sure I didn’t mess it up). Bit.Trip Runner 2 fits in headlines. Bit.Trip presents: Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien does not. Those are the sad facts of life.
Now on to the news. First up, the lovely Matt Harwood has bestowed upon us the first track from B.Tp:R2FLoRA, and it’s pretty awesome. It’s not quite as upbeat as some of the stuff he let me hear a few weeks ago, but I still really enjoyed it. I feel like Mr. Harwood is going for something weirder than just a easily digestible theme here, and it’s paying off. You can listen to it here.
Second up is the hint from Gaijin games that they have a Wii U, and are planning to develop for it. Since B.Tp:R2FLoRA was first announced, loyal Bit.Trip fans that first experienced the series on the Wii have been calling for this new Bit.Trip Gaiden title to be released on the next Nintendo home console. I’d bet dollars to donuts that they’ll get their wish.
