French outfit to operate as developer/publisher
A new studio has sprung up in Europe, established by a team of industry veterans who hold experience in some of the biggest studios in gaming. Based in Paris, France, New Tales will work to produce games based on entirely original IP while also acting as a third-party publisher for smaller developers.
New Tales is headed up by its founder, president, and CEO Cédric Maréchal, who has previously worked with such giants as Sega, Vivendi, Cryo, and Blizzard Entertainment. Joining Maréchal is a team that includes COO Benoit Dufour, chief growth officer Delphine Le Corre, chief content officer Emmanuel Obert — all of whom have similar experience with Blizzard and Vivendi.

“We have formed a team of passionate gamers with an unrivaled degree of experience, having grown some of the biggest IPs and player communities,” said Maréchal of the studio lineup. “Gaming has rarely seen such an exciting time, fuelled by tons of innovation and creativity. However, the frequency of new releases keeps rising rapidly, reinforcing the need for great international publishing.”
In addition to its core team, New Tales announced that it will be working with three senior advisers, all of whom will assist the studio in its game development duties. The advisors are Kim and Ray Gresko of LucasArts and Blue Silver Studios, and former Overwatch production director Julia Humpheries.
“New Tales is a one-stop-shop publishing solution where we’re going to work with developers, as one united team, dedicated to maximising success,” concludes Maréchal. “We are also building our internal production capabilities to develop our own games and IPs. We are looking forward to joining forces with people who share our values and passion!”
