As predicted by analysts, more and more games are being pushed into a 2010 release. The latest victim is Bizarre Creation’s Blur, which was original set to ship this holiday.
The official line from the publisher is to “give the development team more time to enhance the game’s innovative and distinctive online multiplayer gameplay.”
“We are committed to making Blur a great new racing franchise, and we are very encouraged by the game’s design,” said Activision Publishing President and CEO Mike Griffith in a press release today.
While we don’t doubt that the extra time will help Bizarre polish the Blur experience, we have a feeling Activision’s decision probably has more to do with its financial outlook than the game itself. We recently went hands-on with Blur‘s four-player split-screen and had a blast, so this particular news saddens us… and probably Todd the Elevator Guy, as well.
