Bloody Harvest is nearly upon us
Only a week after launching, Borderlands 3 is already looking forward to the holidays. The people of Pandora aren’t taking a vacation, though. They’re shooting at specters and skeletons.
For Halloween, Gearbox is throwing a free Bloody Harvest event in Borderlands 3. It’s a lot of what you’d expect, like Rakks with jack-o-lanterns for heads and rivers of blood. You know, spooky stuff.
But, Bloody Harvest is much deeper than some aesthetic alterations. Throughout the world, players will start running into haunted enemies. These foes have a terror debuff that “partially shrouds your vision in a mysterious mist and weakens your gun handling, accuracy, and spread.” Slaying these enemies grants a temporary currency called Hecktoplasm.
Aboard the Sanctuary III, a new character will take your Hecktoplasm and reward you with a map to Bloody Harvest. This new area that really ratchets up the spookiness. It all culminates in a boss battle against a skeleton version of Captain Traunt, a Maliwan soldier from the campaign.
Bloody Harvest has its share of unique loot for Vault Hunters. There are two new weapons, a shield, and a grenade mod to earn — all of them Legendary rarity. Also, there are cosmetics like character costumes and weapon trinkets. Gearbox hasn’t said when Bloody Harvest kicks off — likely a little closer to Halloween — but, it’ll last about six weeks. Plenty of time to get your spooks and scares.
