Criterion’s Burnout Revenge is due for another big update in the form of a landscape, but it won’t be free. Recently, Criterion updated fans on Big Surf Island. The DLC is a new area designed specifically to quench players’ apetites for big air. According to Criterion’s blog, the island will be around the size of the Downtown area in the main game.
Unfortunately, all free things must come to a semi-end. Big Surf Island will be considered “premium content” and thus will require you to open your pocketbook if you want to experience it. Criterion has previously related to fans that the content would be free, but made the switch because of the “ambitious” nature of the project. It apparently turned into a much larger area than what was originally intended.
If you want the developer-to-you lowdown on Big Surf Island, feel free to hit up Criterion’s Crash TV. In the meanwhile I’ll keep drooling over the new car pictured above. It’s called the Dust Storm and will be released in coordination with the island DLC.
