Hey, I kind of liked that Burnout Paradise game! Those Criterion Games chaps made a mighty fine thing, and while I like the content that shipped with the disc, I wouldn’t mind a bit more.
They’ve already revealed at least one new vehicle (see the “Dust Storm” in the video above), and dropped hints about new “island” areas. Two questions remain: when are we getting the new content how much is it going to cost? Criterion’s Alex Ward decided to (sort of) answer that second question in a random reply on the developer’s official message boards.
“I think we’ll make you work for some of these,” he writes, referring to the game’s new cars, before he adds. “And one more thing, the islands will all be FREE.”
Oh, he did not just drop the naughty four-letter “f” bomb, did he? For an Electronic Arts published game, no less. Free sounds like a pretty amazing deal to me, but I do wonder how long they’ll be able to keep up any steady stream of free content before they realize they have to start paying their electric bill. But until their landlord turns off their hot water, keep it coming!
