Buy a PSPgo, get a free Rock Band Unplugged … sort of

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m actually quite hyped for the PSPgo, although I couldn’t tell you why. Nevertheless, some may consider Sony’s big bonus incentive for North America to be a little on the stingy side, especially considering the fact Europe gets GT PSP. If you buy a PSPgo brand new in NA, you will be able to download Rock Band Unplugged from the PlayStation Store. Sort of.

What you’ll actually get access to is Rock Band Unplugged Lite, a stripped down version of the full game. The “Lite” version contains five full tracks and … well, that’s it. If you want the full version of Unplugged on the PSPgo, you’ll have to download the rest of the songs yourself. So yeah, the free game we get is basically a glorified demo.

That’s a shame, but considering I wasn’t expecting a bonus game anyway, it’s somewhat acceptable. Still, you’d think Sony could afford to bundle a proper game in there. Or at least a handful of PSP Minis. Oh well, I’m still looking forward to getting hold of one of these, if only for the vague hope that the PSP will finally be a system worth having for reasons other than piracy.

How about you? Is the PSPgo tempting anybody else, or am I the only fool here?
