Dead Rising 3 did alright, too
If you hear some hootin’ and hollerin’, and maybe spot a party hat or two, that’s just Capcom celebrating its decent fiscal year. Not everybody actually makes money anymore, so don’t rain on its parade.
Capcom’s good year was anchored by Monster Hunter 4 which sold 4.1 million copies in Japan and South Korea. Dead Rising 3 also performed well, selling 1.2 million units, which isn’t bad considering the low adoption rates that come with a new console. Resident Evil: Revelations HD rounded out the company’s stable of titles that broke a million sales, clocking in at 1.1 million.
So, how do these sales figures translate? Well, Capcom’s net income increased 15.9 percent to $34M, while net sales went up 8.6 percent to $1B. Pop that bubbly, Capcom; you’ve earned it.
