Monster Hunter has the top spot, but Resident Evil spreads the wealth
Resident Evil Village sales numbers have been touted by Capcom for a while now, but thanks to a refresh of the “Platinum Titles” investor relations page, we have an updated look at how it stacks up to everything else. The Capcom all-time seller list still has Monster Hunter: World in a commanding lead, but there’s plenty of Resident Evil to go around.
The vast majority of the list has stayed the same, with one notable exception. So Monster Hunter: Rise jumped up from a previous spot of number seven overall to number five. This pushed down Resident Evil 5 and 6, which both remain on the list. Resident Evil Village managed to crack the top 10 previously and had sales figures of 5.7 million units, and now it pushed up to 6.10, further poised to take the ninth spot from Street Fighter V. It’s just a matter of time.
I expect the next update to shake things up a bit more. We could see the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC take up a spot with its own SKU, and it’ll be bolstered by a dual launch on both PC and Switch.
