Cave teases strategy game set during Japanese civil war

Cave has just revealed a teaser site for a browser-based strategy game, Gun Blood Days. The forthcoming project from the popular shmup publisher is set during a Japanese civil war in the near future. Also involved with the project is Yuri Shibamura, who you may or may not remember from Gunparade March on the original PlayStation and the subsequent manga and anime series of the same name.

No gameplay details as of yet, but Andriasang surmises that players will take control of one of three factions vying for control of the East Asian island chain. Regardless of what exactly it turns out to be, I for one am incredibly interested to see Cave moving in a new direction with this release.
