CD Projekt RED, the developer/publisher behind the acclaimed Witcher franchise, have opened a new studio in Poland to further development on their ambitious RPG project Cyberpunk 2077.

The new studio, based in Wroclaw, will join forces with the company’s existing teams in Warsaw and Krakow to work on the mysterious but highly anticipated title, which was first announced back in 2012. The core of the Wroclaw division’s 18-strong team is indie outfit Strange New Things, who themselves are made up of individuals from IO Interactive, Techland and, funnily enough, CD Projekt RED.

“Aside from their immense technological knowledge and artistic flair, the core team of CD Projekt RED Wroclaw are just great people,” said Adam Badowski, Cyberpunk 2077‘s Director. “CD Projekt RED is not a typical game developer – we put gamers, creative freedom and quality games above making business. These guys not only share this approach, but, much like the rest of the team, think that this attitude is essential to creating epic video games.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for “probable platforms” PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
