Your ears are ready to be invaded
It’s really been 20 years since Secret of Mana was released. I still listen to the game’s amazing soundtrack composed by Hiroki Kikuta on a weekly basis, so it’s great news that a group of musical masterminds have combined forces to bring you Spectrum of Mana, a free three-disc album that will feature arrangements of every track from the game.
Just who’s involved? How about stemage from Metroid Metal or Tim Yarbrough and William Reyes of The OneUps and The Altered Beasts? There’s also this Alexander Brandon guy and about 50 others that you can check out on the album’s website.
They’re serving up three full-length tracks from the album (“Steampunk Funk” is amazing!) and some artwork to whet your appetite, but we’ve got dibs on an exclusive track that won’t be heard anywhere but Destructoid until the album’s release. It features stemage plus a number of other big names and covers one of my favorite tracks, “Mystic Invaders.”
Check out our exclusive sample, the three samples from their website, and let us know if they tickle your fancy. Also share with us your fondest memories of the game and its music as we celebrate 20 years of the legend of the holy sword!
