Succumb to its culture
My first encounter with President Roosevelt in Civilization VI went about as well as I could’ve hoped — he had his people bake me pies! — but I’m fairly certain the gift was a part of some Machiavellian scheme. Once his military might grew, he doubtless would have overpowered my peaceful-unless-you’re-a-barbarian civilization with his Rough Riders and turned us into meat pies.
What? Am I the only one who likes to play Civ imagining wild scenarios like that? It’s so much fun!
Today’s trailer is a look at Civilization VI‘s America and how it is well-suited for a cultural victory with its film studios and national parks. That’s my preferred style of winning these and really any other strategy games — not just going nuclear on everyone — but it never seems to work out that way.
