But it’s not like it cares or anything…
Bandai Namco’s uber-goth adventure Code Vein has shifted over one million copies worldwide since its release in September 2019. The publisher proudly announced the sales milestone on Twitter, complete with a lovely piece of art featuring protagonist Mia, celebrating with a glass of red wine… yeah, that’s it… red wine…
Code Vein mixes melodramatic anime stylings with tough-as-nails hack ‘n’ slash gameplay to tell its tale of desperate vampire-like creatures struggling to find sustenance in a post-apocalyptic society. While Code Vein didn’t exactly conquer the critics, it has found a dedicated audience due to its almost-suffocating style and great customisation features.
Code Vein received its first major DLC drop just last week, in the form of Hellfire Knight, which included a map expansion, new boss fights, and more cool gear for the fashion-loving fiends. Hellfire Knight is the first in a trio of expansions for Code Vein, with a further two planned for later in the year.
Code Vein is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
Dearest Revenants, we’d like to raise a glass of our finest blood to you. Thank you for making #CodeVein a success! pic.twitter.com/Un5JTl5dpx
