[Update: It seems a typo on the game’s teaser site was leading some fans to think the game was also bound for PS3/Xbox 360 and/or Kinect. That is NOT the case, according to Atlus PR Manager Aram Jabbari. “Silliness,” he called it.]
Finally, the news most folks practically knew was coming but wanted to hear announced anyway has been outed: Atlus USA has officially confirmed a North American release of Persona 4: The Golden, the PS Vita remake of the PlayStation 2 RPG powerhouse. It’ll come with 50% more voice acting, a new character, new personas, events, animated cutscenes, music, battle features, an “online rescue” system, and remastered visuals.
Though the game is coming out in Japan in mid-June, the Atlus newsletter suggests a “Fall 2012” date for the North American version.
All that’s left is for Atlus USA to confirm, say, the PSP remake of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, and the entirePersona series will finally be available on contemporary portable platforms.
