Given that it feels like thousands of games are released every single month on platforms like Steam and mobile devices, things can slip by, to say the least.
One such game I missed was Corn Kidz 64: an homage to Nintendo’s influential era of ’90s gaming. It came out on Steam on October 17, 2023, and has developed a cult following of sorts, with overwhelmingly positive reviews to boot. So what’s new with Corn Kidz? Well, it’s getting a Switch port on April 19, at the same price as the Steam version: $6.99.
Corn Kidz 64 is coming to Switch, with N64 controller support
This news comes from the Diplodocus Games social account, which notes that the Switch version is nearly here, and will still offer an “authentic Nintendo 64 experience.” The best part? It’s been confirmed that the port will offer N64 controller support, by way of a “unique control scheme” that will be available at launch. You can find the full Switch eShop listing for Corn Kidz 64 here.
As a mascot platformer player at heart, I will always be there for any modern mascot romp, from Kao the Kangaroo to Penny’s Big Breakaway. And I know what you’re thinking: yes, I was technically there for Balan Wonderworld (which I still call Balan Wonderland): I just didn’t enjoy it. Totally counts!
