According to a recent job listing, Creative Assembly’s mysterious Alien game is planned for both current and future game consoles. It could mean anything, or it could mean nothing. Either way, it’s a chance to talk about Aliens some more, so I’m all up in this.
The Total War developer is looking for a multiplayer/gameplay programmer to help create “a AAA multi-platform title on current and future generation consoles set in the Alien universe.” The wording implies that the game is due for the next iteration of Xbox and PlayStation, or it could just mean it’s planned for the Wii U.
Very little is known about this game. From what’s been gleaned, it’s supposed to be a third-person action title on par with Dead Space, with the team behind Viking working on it. I can’t wait to finally see more of it, at any rate.
