If there are two types of video games that are currently running high in proliferation, they are co-op multiplayer horror titles and supernatural survival shooters.
And if you can’t get enough of all the ghoulie-bashing and monster-mashing, then you’re in luck, as indie outfit Piece of Cake Studios has lifted the lid on its incoming release Crossroads — currently in development for unannounced platforms.
Set in the “pre-apocalypse,” Crossroads sees the United States suddenly inundated with nightmarish creatures previously thought nothing more than the stuff of legend. With ogres, werewolves, sorcerers, demons, and other terrifying beasts running rampant across the American countryside, it is up to a clandestine society of hunters — “The Brotherhood” — to step out of the shadows and face terrifying days of judgment — long foretold within the group’s doctrine.
Crossroads will pit teams of players against armies of unholy creatures all hell-bent on utter destruction. Players will battle throughout various locations across the U.S., defeating nests of nasties and closing the portals that brought them to this world. Fight off the undead and the unholy with a selection of ranged and melee weaponry, utilizing teamwork to take down gargantuan boss characters known as “Primals.”
Can you and your friends save America? Can anybody save America? I guess we’re gonna find out.
