PS3 fan? Feeling jilted over your lack of a Crysis 2 demo? Crytek wants you to know that it’s nothing personal, and that you can “probably hope” for a demo before the game’s release next month.
“We want as many people to play Crysis 2 as possible,” said executive producer Nathan Camarillo. “I can’t say anything too specific … we haven’t announced [the demo] yet.”
Camarillo also promised that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game would be identical, because insecure gamers need their little minds at ease: “People can try to find them (disparities), but they won’t find anything. They both run great, they both play great whether you’re playing single-player or multiplayer — they’re identical offerings. The quality is outstanding on both of them; there’s really no difference.”
On the subject of downloadable content, he practically confirmed that Crytek would release some, but wouldn’t give any firm details: “You can imagine we will. It’s a big game and there’s a lot of fun to be had, so you can imagine we’re doing some [DLC], but I can’t say specifically what it is yet.”
As we gear up for the launch of Crysis 2, I must say I’m getting rather eager to check it out, despite my lukewarm reaction to the multiplayer demo. Here’s hoping that the single-player is as excellent as it should be.
