Patch 1.5 is coming to all versions of Cyberpunk too
CD Projekt Red is launching the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of its futuristic open-world game go live today.
In an announcement stream hosted today, CD Projekt Red confirms that both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are going live today, alongside a five-hour trial of Cyberpunk 2077 that lasts for 30 days. The next-gen update will also be free for owners of previous-gen versions. PlayStation trophies won’t transfer over between versions, as the two versions are different SKUs. Xbox players can carry achievements over using Smart Delivery.
For the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, the new consoles will get ray-traced local light shadows, performance improvements, faster loading, and more. The PlayStation 5 version will also have some DualSense features.
There are also two different modes for visual fidelity: Performance and Ray Tracing. The former uses 4K dynamic scaling with 60 FPS, while the latter introduces shadow and reflection rendering at dynamic 4K and 30 FPS. For Xbox Series S owners, it will have one mode defaulted to dynamic 1440p and 30 FPS.
For all platforms, there’s also an update going live today. Patch 1.5 adds a bunch of new features, including new apartments to purchase, mid-game appearance customization, new weapons, Photo Mode poses, and more.
Crowd AI and combat have also been updated with a bunch of changes, including NPCs that will draw weapons and fight when provoked (that feature is not available on PS4 or Xbox One versions). Drivers can “panic” in reaction to danger, causing more chaos. Several perks have been redesigned, and portions of combat have been tuned up and modded.

The full patch notes are here, and they’re pretty extensive. It’s a welcome announcement for anyone who’s been holding out for the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077. Even though it’s a packed month for game releases, looks like there’s another excuse to venture back to Night City.
