Whodunnit?
It’s taken its sweet time getting here, but Spike Chunsoft’s great punk-rock murder-mystery Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is finally available on mobile platforms. The vulgar visual novel-come-interactive adventure is available now on iOS and Android, priced at around $15 USD.
Originally released on PS4, PS Vita, and PC, in 2017, the third mainline entry in Kazutaka Kodaka’s delirious mystery series won immediate plaudits from critics and fans, praising the sequel for its dizzying aesthetic, intuitive use of player interaction, and layered and shocking storytelling. Much like previous Danganronpa mobile releases, this “Anniversary Edition” features high-res visuals, an optimized control system, and an unlockable gallery of music and artwork, daubed by series veteran Rui Komatsuzaki.
This release has been a long time coming, given that it was intended to arrive alongside the many gifts offered by Spike Chunsoft during 2020’s anniversary celebrations. With Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition all available on mobile, fans can now squeeze hours upon hours of mind-melting murder ‘n’ mayhem right into their back pocket.
Oh, and if you have only recently gotten into this wild series, then be sure to check out the anniversary episodes of “Dangan TV“. This brilliantly in-depth, behind-the-scenes web series streamed in 2020 and takes a look at the concept, creation, and talented team behind the Danganronpa franchise.
