PRAISE THE SUN!
When Dark Souls Remastered was announced for PC, a lot of players were a bit annoyed at the lack of a discount for existing owners. Dark Souls 2 had offered a similar pricing structure when Scholar of the First Sin released, so why were PC players being asked to pay full price for a new version that did the exact same thing as the DSFix mod? Bandai Namco has finally cleared up that issue and announced that a “loyalty” discount will be available on release.
The bigger piece of news is that the currently available “Prepare to Die Edition” will be removed from Steam once Remastered comes out. While previous owners will still be able to install that version, any newcomers will be limited to this newer port. I don’t have an issue with that, though I am a bit worried that some of the changes in this remastered port might ruin the original art design.
Owners of the PC version of “Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition” will be able to upgrade to “DARK SOULS REMASTERED” at a discounted price. Please feel free to take advantage of this campaign. pic.twitter.com/A3mEXG2tmi
