Deltarune, the successor to the glorious Undertale, caused quite a splash when its first chapter came out of the blue and free of charge back in 2018. Deltarune Chapter 2 kept the hype train moving when it came out in 2021, but we’ve since been waiting for Chapter 3. Here’s what we know and what we think we know about the upcoming adventure in the Undertale-verse.
Deltarune Chapter 3 Development update
Back in February 2024, Toby Fox released a newsletter to inform fans that his team is working on chapters 3, 4, and 5 all at once. In it, Fox explained that the upcoming chapters will feature a greater level of complexity and that he’s now working with more people to get the game done. That’s likely why the development is taking more time, but Fox also assured fans that everything is now in place for development to get much faster. The update also said that the team is mostly working on chapter 4, as the third chapter only needs to conclude the Japanese localization and some bugtesting to be ready for release.
Deltarune Chapter 3 price
We know the upcoming chapters won’t be free, but there’s still no information on pricing regarding any of the upcoming episodes and the whole Deltarune package. If the original price point of Undertale is anything to go by, you shouldn’t expect any of the upcoming episodes to cost you more than $15 each.
We still don’t know when Deltarune Chapter 3 will come out, but with what we know from Fox, that could be any moment now. Even if he announces a release date, he likely won’t give more than a week’s worth of a heads up. If you want to get up to speed with the previous chapters before Deltarune Chapter 3 hits like a meteor, you can get both for free on the Switch eShop or Steam.
