The last season before Lightfall
As Bungie gears up for the next expansion for Destiny 2 in Lightfall, the Witch Queen era is coming to a close. Before that happens though there’s the Season of the Seraph, which will close some odds and ends and open up new story beats. Here’s all the details for the December to February season.
Destiny 2 Season 19: Season of the Seraph will run from December 6, 2022 through February 28, 2023
Season of the Seraph is considered the 19th Season of the game, and will last 84 days, which is a shorter run than the previous Season of Plunder (S18), which lasted 105 days. An even Season 20 will start on February 28, when Season 19 ends, which will kick off the era of the Lightfall expansion.
Currently, we don’t know the confirmed name of Season 20, as it’s redacted by Bungie.
Here’s what the Season of the Seraph entails
- The Heist Battlegrounds matchmaking activity
- An exotic mission (Operation: Seraph’s Shield)
- The Revision Zero weapon (December 20)
- Another season pass track
- The Dawning (Christmas event)
- New cosmetics
- Moments of Triumph continuation
The core story involves the Warmind, and the task of allowing it to pilot an Exo entity, as well as wrapping up the Witch Queen expansion, as we collectively head to Neptune for Lightfall.
