Build up that static shock
There is very little about Destroy All Humans that is confusing. This is a game where the objectives are immediately clear, usually to destroy the humans in a certain way. Blow up a car, kill soldiers with rockets — that sort of stuff. You can almost always immediately wrap your head around what Destroy All Humans asks you to do.
However, an optional objective in one of Destroy All Humans‘ last levels left me scratching my head. During the “Shocking Developments” mission, you’re tasked with electrocuting three scientists with Tesla coils. It’s the one objective that isn’t necessarily intuitive.
I tried everything. I thought shooting the coils with my Zap-O-Matic would cause electricity beams to go flying everywhere. Nope. I thought using telekinesis to chuck the scientists into the coils would fry them. Nada. Maybe blowing up nearby items would cause a chain reaction of sorts? Definitely not.
Here’s what you have to do: To electrocute scientists with Tesla coils, just pick them up with your psi-powers and rub them against the coil for a little bit. It’s super easy, and they go down like mosquitoes in a bug zapper. It’ll definitely blow your cover in these heavily-guarded areas, but what’s a space invader to do?
There you go. This should save you some frustration and time right before the end of Destroy All Humans. A lot of people are gonna get stumped here because the game never teaches this technique. They’ll go through their Rolodex of plausible solutions before landing here through a Google search. Welcome to Destructoid. We come in peace.
