Yep, it had to happen. The reactionary pit of creative bankruptcy that is Hollywood has its sights trained on Deus Ex, the latest videogame primed to be adapted by moviemakers who have no ideas of their own. CBS Films has acquired the rights to turn the events of Human Revolution into a thing we can watch.
John P. Middleton is the film’s executive producer, and the project will be overseen by Maria Faillace and Alex Ginno. CBS is apparently going to work very closely with Eidos Montreal in order to produce a faithful movie that might not suck, but probably will.
Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are producers, with the latter also working on a Hitman sequel, as well as a Kane & Lynch movie.
It’s gotten to the point where these adaptations and remakes don’t bother me anymore. Eventually all culture will be cannibalized, shat out, and re-cannibalized by moviemakers. Still, feel free to prime your, “I didn’t ask for this” jokes.
