Two story missions, some weapons, Praxis Kits, and microtransaction content
I’ve never really been a fan of “mystery box”-styled Season Passes. They take the concept of dropping down money sight-unseen on content that isn’t out yet and add an extra layer of risk, as there’s no certainty that the content you’re paying for is even remotely similar to what you’re actually after.
While Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is meant to have one of such Season Passes, thanks to the U.K. retailer Game, there’s now a little more clarity as to what it actually contains:
- Two story missions titled “System Rift” and “A Criminal Past”
- Two weapons packs
- Four Praxis Kits
- 5,000 Credits
- Five Booster Packs of randomly generated content normally acquired through the purchase of microtransactions and 20 “Chipsets” for the Breach game mode
Overall, I’m a little unsure as to whether or not this content is worth Square Enix’s $30 USD asking price, although the overall value of this Season Pass really does depend on how substantial the two missions are. It may be advisable to hold off on purchasing it for now so you can wait until the content has been released and reviewed. After all, there have been plenty of less-than-stellar Season Passes in recent memory.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set for release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on August 23, with Season Pass content being released at a later (and currently unconfirmed) date. You can check out our review of the base game right here.
While there’s been no official announcement from Square Enix to confirm the authenticity of this information, when you take the origin point of this leak into consideration, it can be reasonably assumed to be accurate. A screenshot of the page in question can be found below:
